My DME called to say my Wisp had arrived.  Within 15 minutes I was back home with it.  It says to wash before use, so don't know if will be dry enough to try tonight.  But handling it and looking at it it looks like maybe be comfortable.   I hope so.  Updates after I use.

PICK actually had my DME (supplier) order it, so I'm assuming insurance will only be billed for parts. They just don't explain anything. I work in a medical field as well, where we always explain everything to patients. Worried that switching DME suppliers is somewhat scary as my other choice is a large medical group. Will have to contemplate the decision. I just want to sleep well, breathe, not dry my eyes out and be comfortable. Leaks were a constant problem.

I changed from a small local DME and I am happier with the National one I picked.   (I am in medical field too....nurse)   I would look carefully at your insurance statement when it comes. Good luck and let me know how you are doing.

The smaller cushion didn't work, so I'm sticking with s/m. Still some adjustment issues but otherwise very happy with Wisp. Thanks for recommendation!

Returned the petite cushion to DME and finally felt safe asking why they split the package, etc.  She said so I was only charged for supplies needed.  So I'll see when DME is billed as too how much it cost compared to purchasing entire package.  I am well pleased with the Wisp and thankful for the recommendation.  I have very few leaks and don't get woke with the blasts of air from the machine.

Yes, it will be interesting to see if they billed for a COMPLETE mask whcih does include ALL 3 cushions.   Funny they wold ask you to return a used one.  Glad it is working better for you.   So we will keep our eyes out for the best best,   right???

Yes, I've now decided I won't just settle as I did the first few years of CPAP use.  If there's something new & better on the market I will try it!

I agree, Louise.  The Wisp is a great  advance in masks I believe.  It s so small and light.  For those of us not using nasal pillows this is just a good.

Well, I'm furious at my DME & haven't been able to talk to them. I got an email late yesterday about some new claims pending. One was from my DME for $549. I emailed insurance & asked if the charges were for a mask or mask parts. A short reply came today that it was. My responsibility is $164. They will get a piece of my mind & I'm going to switch DME. We just had a discussion with our insurance provider. Our premiums went up again, mostly because we used more $ than our small group paid in last year. I'm the oldest & had a rough year, so everyone looked at me. I promised I'd do better this year, except for the things out of my control, like my gall bladder last year. Input please!? I stil love the Wisp!

Did they give you a detailed explanation of charges?  Sees way too much for a mask!   It would have been less expensive to pay out of pocket from an online dealer/seller!!! The insurance company should question the charges.   I would ask DME for what each charge was for exactly.  I am not a trouble maker but I think it stinks when companies abuse our insurance and I would really complain until satisfaction was obtained.  Does your insurance have a nurse casemanager that will go to bat for you?? All DME companies overcharge, I think.   Mine charged my insurance $154.26 for two replacement nasal cushions.  They only received $52 as payment.  I owed nothing out of pocket. They charged $319 for Wisp mask ( one could by online for just over $100!!) They received $107 in insurance payment.   Again, nothing out of my pocket. No wonder health insurance keeps on going up!!!  Fight it!!!

Louise,  If you're like me you expect bad luck everytime a letter comes from the insurance company.  Though they state it's not a bill, it's a statement of benefits.  Until I get an actual bill from the DME I disregard these letters from the insurance company until I get enough info that it makes sense.  I your insurance company doesn't give an account of charges I would ask them to do that.  If anyone will go to bat for you the insurance company will.

I know my DME charged $6,000 for my ASV and it is $3,700 from cpap.com.  The figures are always scary until you get and actual bill.

Good luck,  Louise.  Keep us posted.

How are you doing with the Wisp.  I still love mine.  7 day average AHI now down to 8...occasionally goes to 1.4.   Still hate CPAP but don't dread going to bed nearly as much since it is so cut and dry putting it on and going to sleep. The cushions seem very durable.   Have been using one for over 2 months now.

I'm still using my Wisp and still loving this mask.  I am having some problem during the night which is setting off an alarm, but I'm always too groggy to figure it out.  I think my chin strap is failing.
