I AM WONDERING DOES ANY ONE KNOW ABOUT SEIZIURES AND SLEEP APNEA . IS THERE A CONNECTION ??? THINKING ABOUT HAVING THE SURGERY TO STOP THE SNORING. SURGERY CALLED RADIO ASSISTED UVULOPALATOPHARYNGPLASTY.ANY ADVICE WOULD THANKS CASPER

I just googled sleep apnea and seizures and found some anecdotal reports of seizures with sleep apnea in children. It does seem possible that if your O2 saturation went down signifantly it could cause a seizure. Merely speculation.
No advice about the surgery. Good luck.

Wrom Wikipedia "In medicine, oxygen saturation refers to oxygenation, or when oxygen molecules (O2) enter the tissues of the body. In this case blood is oxygenated in the lungs, where oxygen molecules travel from the air and into the blood. Oxygen saturation, or O2 sats measure the percentage of hemoglobin binding sites in the bloodstream occupied by oxygen.
When we talk about O2 saturation in relation to sleep apnea we are referring to the amount of O2 in the blood. This falls in some people with sleep apnea when they fail to breathe.
In regard to TBI, I think a neurologist would have to step in here as it would depend on where the brain trauma was to cause seizures. The brain stem regulates breathing and central sleep apnea can be caused by anything that effects the brain stem Although I thinklike most cases of central apnea are ideopathic.
