Well, I went to my sleep study to determine ASV qualifications for central sleep apnea. Had to drive to almost 3 hrs away and the bed was hard, I couldn't get to sleep, my o2 finger thingy kept coming off and tech came in twice because I was breathing through my mouth and finally put a chin strap on me. I don't feel like they could have possibly gotten a good reading! The previous sleep study was done near my home, was a great sleep # bed and I slept good. That one was to determine is I needed this one! I have been dealing with this since January of this year, when I finally got a copy of my sleep study that was done last year and found that central sleep apnea was the diagnosis. I could DIE before they finally get me on a machine that helps!!! I now have to wait a week for results and I am sure I will have to call my ENT and get the report sent to him - at least HE is doing his best to get to the bottom of things. My internist did nothing but file the previous report away! How frustrating!!!!

Did they give you a reason as to why they did the studies at 2 different labs? I am sorry for what you are going through. Central Apnea can be the toughest to get under control. Unfortunately the people whom are running the sleep labs are just starting to figure out that they need to be comfortable. The newer labs seem to be splurging on the sleep#, and the memory foam beds. While the older labs sometimes won't even renovate.
That is horrible to have to drive that far, did you get your supplies yet? Call the lab or Dr. ask for a couple of both of your test,
keep asking your Dr. for you prescriptions hope this helps

I think the reason was that we live up in the mtns of NC where there are not labs that understand ASV machines. We went to Blairsville, GA for first one - that wasn't too bad. I believe they sent us closer to Atlanta to possibly get us in earlier (you have to wait a LONG time for someone to come up one or two days a week for sleep studies). We didn't like the different lab situation either but what can you do - I KNOW! Move closer to a city that has facilities??? Hopefully we will be able to get supplies in Blairsville, but where we live we have NEVER had anyone follow up on my machine and they couldn't calibrate it without written orders from my doctor - who didn't have an iota of an idea what he should write - and the service people just set it like he said. Hopefully now we have an ENT and a neurologist on board we have a doctor who cares and will get it done right. My wife is a real advocate for this and she can get pretty LOUD when she needs to! Thanks everyone for replying and I enjoy reading the discussions very much. It helps to know you are not alone!
