If that were the case they would not need to make Full Face Mask.

I wish I could use a nasal. Even with my lips taped, at any pressure over 8, my cheeks puff! That wakes one up frequently. I am now on a pressure of 11. The RT I spoke with today felt that any Reps that came to their office seemed to think most people could use nasal. I don't think that is true. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person needing a full face mask that has a small face.

I would look at something called The Ultimate Chin Strap. http://sleepapneasolutionsinc.com/?page_id=2
It would allow you to use a nasal mask. I know if you look at it you might say "no way", but I have heard nothing but good things about this strap. It's supposed to be very soft and will help with the cheeks puffing out with a nasal mask. I would contact the inventor as you might need a custom size. I believe it comes with a guarantee.
There have got to be pediatric size masks out there, perhaps Kath in the UK can be of some help.
Good luck.

Ginny, I'm new, completely new, to all of this. (Got my CPAP 6/10/11.) BUT this might help you:
I had cheek-puff problems. Ditto open-mouth breathing problems. I ordered the so-called Ultimate Chin Strap mentioned by Mary Z ( www.sleepapneasolutionsinc.com ) and it has made a difference.
Two cautions, however:
1. I'm female and slim. I was asked what size chin strap I wanted. My choices were regular size and petite. Since I'm not petite, I took regular size. Actually, I suspect that the other size, i.e., petitie, is more of a woman's size; I probably should have selected it.
2. I developed leakage problems. I went to the RT with my machine and all related paraphernalia and asked him to check out whether I was putting everything on right. When he saw me put on the the chin strap, he knew what the problem was immediately. The part of the strap that covers my mouth goes directly under the nose. Result? My mask seal wasn't tight enough The RT recommended that I bring the fabric down lower. BINGO! Now that the mask isn't over the strap, it's working fine for me. No puffy cheek. No mouth breating. (I had resorted to taping my mouth shut but that didn't help the puffing.)
Hope this helps.

You have learned much Zollistar finding the right set up is a daunting process but as you will see it is worth it. Ginny is their a orthotist (person whom makes prosthetic arms and such) near you? They know how to make things fit .Perhaps a little foam added in the right place could be just the thing for you.Do not limit yourself to find answers ......Think outside the mask. Good Sleep,Chris
