terrible hayfever/sneezing since they raised my pressure
They gave me a new FX Swift nasal mask and raised my pressure from 11 to 13. I'm dying with allergy-like sneezing ever since, any thoughts? It's in my nasal passages, an irritation, no other symptoms like cough, infection, etc. In fact, I have more energy.
Cleaned everything- room, hoses, blankets. and lowered humidity to 2 from 4, is it possible the higher volume of air is doing this?
See doc on 3-9 again.

Hi Gordon, No diaphram discomfort? Just nasal area? It is the first area to feel the higher pressure .Their was a posting not to long ago about humidity ..I will see if I can find it.. Did you wash the new mask ? I know you did everything else. What ever it is I hope it stops soon for you.Good Sleep,Chris

I'm not a medical professional, but my thought on this is that the air pressure is somehow irritating the delicate nasal & sinus passages, as in non allergic rhinitis. I have this problem, and sometimes an oral antihistamine helps, and I have prescription flonase nasal spray which is a corticosteroid spray that reduces the inflammation. I use it every night. This can be very uncomfortable, even painful, causing the nasal tissues to swell, feeling like you have congestion, but it is the sinus tissues rather than mucosal congestion. I also find that a natural herbal product called "quercetin" helps reduce the histamine reaction, but has to be used regularly over time to be most effective. Good luck working with this. It is an ongoing management type of situation in my experience.

my understanding is its going to do this until your body gets used to the increased flow accross the cillia lining the nasal pasages. your body sees the increased flow as something invading and tries to flush it out. what kind of mask did you use before the swift fx? the pillows of the fx turn the laminent flow into 'jets' at higher pressures. on some of my patients that I have using a conserving device, the tiny 40ml burst from the conserver is enough to make their noses run, until they get used to it. I think the addition of humidity and the little ultra fine white filters and just some time to adjust may help. if not possible or feasable, you might have to go to a nasal mask, rather than pillows.

Thanks for the responses. I had the humidity set too low, and back on # 4, it resolved itself in a few days. I should have kept the setting the same, I turned it down thinking higher pressure=more air=more moisture. Dumb me.
