Robert, on behalf of The SleepGuide Crew I welcome you to the forum. We're glad to have you. I had excesssive daytime sleepiness until nearly four years into therapy and took Provigil/Nuvigil. Insurance approval probably depends on your part D- prescription coverage- part of your Medicare policy. Perhaps your doc can give you some samples. Have you tried any meds to help with your restless legs? Perhaps if you can get some better, unfragmented sleep you will feel less tired.
Until Provigil I relied on Red Bull and 5 Hour Enegy which were not very effective and may negatively impact you sleep.
Good luck- it's a real problem. If the cost of Provigil is prohibitive there are other meds out there.
