*giggle* Don't mind me I'm just a crusty ole broad, well-meaning but more than a bit rough around the edges. Hey, I'm just a patient so I can't offer you any advice about entering the sleep field.

I was started originally on a Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR, bought a Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage out of pocket and then was switched to the Resmed VPAP Auto due to COPD. I've also used the Respironics pre-M Series Auto w/C-Flex and the Respironics pre-M Series Bi-PAP Auto w/Bi-Flex. I liked the easy access and amount of data available via the LCD screen on my Resmeds so sold the two Respironics.

I've probably been thru a good dozen masks and three of the mask styles. I've never tried the oro/nasal style mask. My favorites have been the old Respironics Simplicity simple nasal cushion and the ProBasics Zzz-Mask full face mask. I'm giving the PR FitLife a trial run right now. In nasal masks I HATED the original Swift w/that assinine side hose attachment but really rather like the new Swift LT and I just saw the new Swift FX last nite at our apnea support group meeting and I'm really drawn to it!!! The PR OptiLite was pretty good too altho I preferred the nasal cradle cushion option than the nasal pillows option.

Welcome to the forum, Bob. Goshes, tho, for having taken some random online medical classes and wanting to get into polysomnography technology and the A-Test you don't seem to be as well educated about CPAP therapy as I would have expected. Please don't be offended by what I just said. I'm just not very good about being diplomatic or tactful. You say your interest in SA is that you MAY have OSA. You don't even list your CPAP device by brand and model and only refer to your mask as a nasal mask.

Most of the patient members can state the brand and model of the PAP, and usually the name of their mask as well as what type of mask it is.

Regardless we're glad to have you join us. And by george, if you stick w/us we'll give you an education that will help you break into the sleep field w/some real understanding of what patients go thru!
