Hi Allison, You concern is legitimate; however, you should know that even a top of the line CPAP can be very difficult to wear and fall asleep with. I would like to introduce you to an alternative to the CPAP machine, to relieve your sleep apnea. An…

CPAP is considered the “gold standard” in sleep apnea treatment. Unfortunately, it is not easily tolerated and can be embarrassing when sleeping with a bed partner. Many people are becoming more aware of and opting for dental appliance therapy, whic…

First and foremost, I am a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.). My formal title is “Farhad Hakimi, D.M.D., F.A.C.P., Diplomate American Board of Prosthodontics”. I completed my graduate studies at New York University, College of Dentistry. I taught Dentistry and Prosthodontics at N.Y.U. for sixteen years and began my private practice. Recently, I celebrated my thirtieth anniversary. I’m also devoted to studying Sleep Breathing Disorders. In 1998, I patented an anti-Snoring/Sleep Apnea device which also relieves oral effects of stress. The VIAdmd oral device has been remarkably successful.

The VIAdmd oral device is one of the most important tools I use to create Oral Harmony. By correcting how you breathe during sleep, the VIAdmd oral device can work wonders in your oxygen-deprived body. This “simple” device is designed to achieve Oral Harmony in three ways: VIAdmd oral device helps eliminate Snoring, Sleep Apnea and treat T.M.J. Syndrome by relieving the effects of stress in the mouth, head and around the neck. Since patenting my device in 1998 (I originally called it the “Snoring and Stress Relieving Device” or “S.S.R.D.” but no one could remember its name), I’ve seen 90-95% success in my patients using the VIAdmd oral device. I won’t rest until every one of you is cured.
Please visit www.VIAdmd.com for more information.

How do you measure success in treating sleep apnea? Do 90-95% of your patients actually show up as cured by a test in a certified sleep lab? Dr. Hakimi, until you show statistics and proof you are selling snake oil. You give legitimate suppliers of OMADs a bad name.

It is obvious you did not read the thread by Allison Keller and her CPAP Device. You used her situation for your own shoddy advertising practices. The word for this is SPAM.

Yup, if you've got insurance, your insurance dictates which local DME providers you can use. Just because you bought your CPAP elsewhere does NOT mean that your insurance contracted providers can't or won't provide your masks and other accessories.…

Hi Candace, Apria is giving me a payment plan for 10 months, after that I will buy it if I still need it. In the mean time, all of the folks here are so helpful they told me the best cpap to get and low and behold, Apria did not give me a newer mode…

Linda, I read your question re: CPAP Machine and Apria. I also am not impressed with them. I have Kaiser and Kaiser will not pay for my equipment. Apria says that I have to pay all costs up front. Are you on a payment plan with Apria. I have severe…

First, let me say, Thank you for going to bat for us. I think you are doing a fantastic job in spreading OSA awareness and providing us with OSA a place to go for support. Apparently there is no connection between a college degree and intelligence,…

You hit the nail on the head. I had a similar experience last year with another organization, The Alzheimer's Association. I ask for permission to pass out a flyer, "Does Sleep Apnea Cause Alzheimer's Disease?," at one of their annual meetings regar…

Maybe you should be the communications director for the AHA ;-).

I believe that individuals should be free to make decisions for themselves. This goes for the patients and the providers. The patient is free to decide what to do and who to pay for what services. The provider is free to decide what services he offe…
