What is the average cost of going to the sleep center to find out what help you need?

This was posted under FAQs and hasn't received a response. I just ran across it today.

This last sleep doctor was DEFINITELY GROSSLY OVERPAID considering his actual worth!!! The four sleep doctors at my local sleep clinic were all much better than this overpaid, low calibre, sorry excuse for a sleep specialist (or doctor for that matter).
I believe my cost was $2500. I am on an 80/20 plan for this sort of thing with my insurance so my out of pocket was just slightly over $500.
