RockRpsgt replied to Mary Z's discussion SymptomsWhat does everyone use to sleep when they have a cold? Before SA I used Nyquil, now I'm a little leary of it b/c of the sedating effect. Is it still okay to use?

Permalink Reply by ZolliStar on January 24, 2012 at 9:29am If you have OSA, I suspect Nyquil would be okay to use. I sometimes take a mild sedative to get to sleep, although now that I'm re-learning how to sleep, I don't have to do this much any more.
If you have Central Sleep Apnea, maybe you should check with your doctor.
Anyone here able to offer reliable advice to Kristi?
Kristi, I am not a medical professional, but I think Nyquil in the prescribed dose would be fine to take for the short period of time you would need it during a cold. I haven't had to take anything in a long time.
Keep us posted on how you're doing.
