Extreme OSA Treatment: Sleeping in a Pressurized Box!

Folllowing up with video below regarding Rock's comment in a previous post -- skip to about the 6 minute 20 second mark: "Daniel I actually have a neighbor who claims that her father, after years of fighting with CPAP,built a pressurized box around hs bed. I am waiting to here back from her and her father on the exact data of the experiment. She calims that at one time these experiments blew a 2x4 through the bedroom wall of her house landing in the side yard. The report that I recieved that her father figured out that at a pressure equal to 3500" below sea level the apneac events disappeared. Like I said though as of this point it is all heresay. I am hoping to see the actual results soon"

So he built his own hyperbaric chamber. There are portable models available for purchase to use in the home. I believe they require a prescription.

I won't take the time to watch the whole video, but is there anything good going on there? He is still using a CPAP nasal mask and a tongue device.

Maybe he would have more easily obtained good results if he had just taken some time to learn how to properly size, fit, and use a full face mask and titrate his pressure at home with software.

K.I.S.S.
He also seems to be snoring and having apneas.
Rock H. knows the back story here. I'll ask him to chime in.
I am planning on talking to this gentleman tomorrow. I will post the details. This is a man that thas struggled with his therapy since day 1.
Hi;

Is it the same with "All" sleep apnea patients? Do they "All" wipe thier faces like that or no?

There is only one flaw in the whole design of the Sleep Apnea Breathing Apperatice,
Scott "can't" put "any-thing" on his face, he's got Claustrophobia really, really bad so much
so that if any kind of mask is put on his face he suffocates. There could be a steady flow of oxigine for him to breath in & he'd still not be able to catch his breath.

So, he's stuck between a rock & a very hard place.

Does any-one have any other suggestions, please?

He used to be a Firefighter & he said he went through some kind of breathing tanks or
some-thing, sadly I wasn't paying real close attention because my mind went to
where he was (trying to breath with the mask on) & I can tell you, I found my-self
taking in deep breaths of air & we were in the kitchen just talking about what a
mask does to him.
We gave the box the think tank treatment and ........No it will not work the pressure can not be applied to the whole body. This will not displace the obstructions. The pressure must be more direct. It would be a better way to apply o2 if you dont like cannulas. Michael Jackson slept in one, not for Apnea!
Ya see, he can't do that either it's a closed in space & again he'd hyperventilate (sorry my spelling sucks & I'm to lazy to look it up in the Dictionary) needless to say that's out as well :^(
He said it would have to be room size or bigger (The Hyperbari Chamber)...lol
There are mask that help people deal with the whole claustorphobia issue. There is also the trach option. both are better than the third alternative.

Rock:

What masks help people deal with claustaphobia??? I am currently using the nasal pillows LT for her, and I am breathing through my mouth.....I have a flimsy chin strap--I have ordered the respironics premium chin strap and waiting for that to come in anytime now.
Be careful with the "premium"chin strap. It can pull your chin back....This is not the direction you want your chin to go.
