Thanks for the welcome Brad. I don't know if I am in the right place or if there is anything that can be done to help me. I'm in a difficult situation and am unable to use a C-PAP. I have been diagnosed with severe Sleep Apnea and the inability to reach REM Sleep. The Pulmonary doctor I had at that time decided sinus surgery was the best way for me to go. However, the ENT he sent me to messed up the surgery. He left me with a hole the size of a T shaped half dollar going into my brain. He closed up, told my family I was fine, ordered many prescriptions for me, and then he disappeared. The result was that I was in a coma, had Meningitis and nearly died. My husband and four children were devastated and never left me alone while in that hospital. I was medi-vaced out to two more hospitals before a specialist figured out what was wrong with me and saved me. He had to make a patch with bone from behind my ear, and pollups from my sinus cavity. That patch has held for 7 years, but since I am the first to survive under these circumstances there is no way to know whether the patch could withstand the C-PAP. I know the biggest thing I have to do is lose weight, but the brain damage left behind has take my stubborn will to overcome all of this. Since my surgery I was blessed with 4 grandchildren. They are everything to me and I have to find a way to increase my chances of survival.
Sorry I got so wordy. Thanks again for the welcome.
