Kellie, if you stopped breathing over 30 times in an hour, that would be severe sleep apnea. The metric that is often used is how many breathing events occur on average over the course of an hour. More than 5 is required for the diagnosis of sleep apnea; over 15 means moderate sleep apnea; and over 30 indicates severe levels of sleep apnea
What exactly do you hate about your machine? How long have you had it? What is your pressure settings? Which machine do you have -- the name and model? What type of mask are you using?
If you can post some information we maybe able to help you so that you don't hate your machine so much.
