I'm going on 3 years of using CPAP.  But I would say I've only been getting great results for about half that time.   What about everyone else?

Six years for me, but ive made alot of mistakes, like napping, or waiking in the morning and taking the mask off, just to fall back asleep, ive found CPAP also helps my bad acid reflex, so there is another reason to not lay down without the mask, went to asleep lastnight, after just eating salsa and chips, it came up soon as i feel asleep, and was standing on the floor in about 2 sec gasping to breath, (Thats what will be the death of me) i didnt have Gaviscon, so was afraid to lay back down, but i knew the cpap could stop the acid from comming up. Im going to be having surgery soon for my years of acid reflex, friends if you have this, use the mask it can stop it, even my family doctor said it stops acid reflex, your mask can save your life in more ways than one. God Bless everyone, Mark..
I have been using CPAP for about 7 yrs.100% compliant, I like getting a good night sleep. Just recently went to an auto PAP with a heated humidifier and love it. Thanks to this forum. For most of the 7 yrs. I worked only with my PCP wasn't aware of sleep doctors until I read comments from other CPAPer's. I now have myself a good sleep doctor who recommended I use the autoPAP.
A year and a half. Results continue to improve and my readings are excellent.
I've been using CPAP for 5 years and got results right away. I had a little trouble finding the right mask, but other than that have done very well with no real adjustment period.
Exactly 4 weeks now today! Wow, I'm doing good. Ü As far as results..... I didn't know what it was like to sleep, but I've been sleeping every night for 4 weeks now and I'm loving it. Me and "Pammy" get along really well. (BTW, my CPAP's name is "Pammy")
6 Years & counting. In fact, every day I use my CPAP, I improve my personal best record of continuous CPAP useage (joke). Like Karen Moore (below), I've witnessed quality of life improvements from Day 1.
- The biggest single cognitive improvement is recalling names. Prior to my CPAP, I couldn't recall names to save myself. That fact alone was career limiting. After CPAP, I'm at least as good as my co-workers, and on days after exception sleep & outstanding clarity of thought, my recall is wicked-fast.
- Sadly, my pressure setting has doubled from 6.0 to 12.0 indicating that the condition has deteriorated as I've gotten older. Still, I can't leave home without it.
- I was diagnosed and treated by the Stanford Sleep Disorder Clinic. They are world-class. None of the private practitioners before them came close to making the right diagnosis. They literally saved my life.
- My provider is SomniHealth. Daniel Levi, the owner, is a CPAP user. I consider him my personal care-giver. He's that good. All others I've tried fell short of expectations.

Well, it has been 3 years here also. I wanted that overnight success, but did not get it. Was a bit better at first, till other factors set in.. been totally faithful also. Do not even want to try and go without it!
I have been using CPAP for about 7 years. I have noticed a big difference. I use to fall asleep at my desk during the day and would always wake up in the morning with a horrible headache. I feel so much better using my CPAP
I'm at 3 yrs too and sometimes i don't get the sleep that I'd like but I remember the nocturia and that's not happening. I try to sleep w/o the mask and that doesn't happen. I tried another incorrectly set machine at the girlfrinds and that was a choking disaster. I can go withour food longer than I can w/o my cpap.
I've been using my CPAP three years and one month ~ I never sleep without it!
Over two years, and it works well for me. Minor leaking, or annoying issues happen very seldom. I have replaced my mask only once, but clean and care for it constantly. It has made my life NORMAL. I feel good.
