What do we do for a living?  Are we in high stress jobs, jobs that make us want to fall asleep, somewhere in between or all of the above?

I am a Probation and Parole Officer and a single mother of 7..life is a challenge after all..
The common denominator is the loss of muscle tone caused by sleep. This loss is compounded by anatomy, weight, and aging.

is there some common demominator to this like working nights or shift work
I am a freelance business and IT consultant. Today I work only four days a week and has it really fine with that. (It has nothing to do with my SA)

Earlier I have been director of a couple of large IT companies. Back then I worked at least 80 hours a week.

I am a Customer Service Represenative (CSR) for an auto auction. My job is very stressful, especially since I am in a small office and there are only 2 of us in the office. There are days when I could just sleep right at my desk, no matter what is going on in the office. All in my job is pretty good.
I am a CEO of two companies and a CPA in public practice by profession. I do not feel that I have any stress issues although there are the occasional challenges. I sing and dance going to the office and sing and dance going home. Prior to going on a BiPap, five and one-half years ago, I would have tend to get sleepy in the afternoon and fall asleep when I got home. I do not get sleepy at the office anymore although I still occasionally fall asleep when I get home.
I worked as an investigative journalist and editor for newspapers and magazines for almost 25 years.
I work as a freelance Web designer and Internet Strategy consultant. While my job is not particularly stressful (at least compared to my old job as customer rep in an industrial screen printing company), I do have to deal with the stress of a less steady income. That can take its toll when starting a small business. I would have a real hard time going back to the 8 to 5 though...

I used to get sleepy during the day and had begun to really struggle with concentration and memory (which had never been an issue for me before) but I've been on APAP since early February and that has really helped a lot. I'm not 100% back in terms of memory and concentration but I have regained most of my energy and am no longer sleepy unless I don't sleep enough hours... which is something I have struggled with a long time. There just isn't enough hours in my days ;) So I have to discipline myself to get to bed at decent hours...
I am a social worker in the child abuse field. There is a ton of stress.
I'm the head of corrections at the county jail. It can be stressful, but you don't dare EVER be off your game there! I also fill in on the 911 desk at times, when needed.
I am young (mid life) software technical project manager with moderate OSA.
I import cpap comfort accessories from you good people in the US who've come up with wonderful inventions:) to help the people in the UK comply with their CPAPs. I'm also a piano and keyboard teacher here, and thought it was my busy schedule of music teaching which was causing the tiredness. Little did I know ;) I now have the energy to run 2 businesses + spend many hours spreading the word of OSA and work alongside the sleep clinics here.
I'm a safety supervisor for the company I work for. Our business is to take any bulk loads of steel in any form, pieces of buildings, cranes, you name it and move it from railcars to truck for delivery to our customers. Imagine the irony of a safety supervisor overseeing a small crisis down the street from our yard and being found asleep in my truck by no less than my boss! Not good. Fortunately I work for a company that is empathetic to employee issues. Stress is really minimal but for what I create for myself, so it's not much of a factor in my career or life.

I went to my doctor and was referred to a local sleep clinic. Even at my initial consultation, the doctor said I more than likely have OSA and am a candidate for a PAP machine. I had a sleep study done and it was found among other bad things that my AI was 110/hr! That scared the C-RAP out of me (pun intended). Within a week and a half, I started out with my A-PAP machine and had a follow up appointment yesterday. So in 13 days, my AI is down to an average of 30/hr, no more daytime drowsiness or fatigue but I'm now in REM rebound and loving it. We'll try to cut down the AI average more.

Last night I started using the ResMed Mirage Activa LT mask. Struggled most of the night with it but during my afternoon nap today (I'm on disability to get my health in order) I had my ah-hah moment with the mask adjustment. I think it's a keeper. When adjusted as directed by the owner's manual (a poor bunch of diagrams) it accepts almost all positions of my head. If there's a leak, I simply turn an adjustment knob to kill it. The manufacturer has a good website with videos and info on troubleshooting that helped. I have no issues with compliance, my incentive is to remember how I used to feel before PAP therapy....things are looking up!
