I would count myself in the ranks of those 100% compliant -- meaning that, with very few exceptions, I use my machine every single night, all night, and whenever I take a nap.

Hopefully I'm not alone. What about everyone else?

In my book, Deadly Sleep, I stress the importance of 100% compliance with your PAP machine. Anything less, and you are taking the risk of being 100% dead.
I am one of the compliant EVERY time I sleep. As have most of us, I have had about 4-5 exceptions in a little over 3.5 years. Only one was a power outage, and the first 3 were all in the first few months of CPAP use. Once I got a mask that was good for me, things went a LOT better. :D

Those few times, I have had a bad night of sleep. I am afraid to sleep without my CPAP, even if I am propped up in a chair or recliner. I keep worrying about all of those bad effects on my body.

I will never willingly be without my CPAP! I think that I love the humidity so much that if the CPAP cure fairy bonks me, I would still beg to have humidity delivered RIGHT to me, somehow. Hmmm, I wonder...is that possible? (The humidity delivery, I mean, NOT the fairy...I'm not holding my breath for that, pun intended.)
I was better last year, but this year I am not doing so good. I just can't seem to get a comfortable fit. I also feel like I have to wait for my husband to be asleep before I put my mask on, then I fall asleep without it. Wake up groggy and tell myself to put it on, but never follow through. Yes I am tired during the day and have gained weight since I stopped being "good".

Reading your posts gives me encouragement to get better. Thanks for being there.
Turned mine back in. I simply got no sleep with an apparatus on my face. Maybe not smart, but at least I'm sleeping.
I am 100% compliant at night and since I am, I really don't need naps.

I am 100% compliant I do not see how if you have severe osa that after using it you could sleep without it.

I use it everytime I sleep, or go somewhere overnight it comes with me

just a part of my life now. I have fallin asleep on the couch and my husband always wakes me and says go put your mask on! my kids too. :-)

I do not ever seem to fall asleep anymore without it its like my body is like "I DON"T THINK SO"
I am new, only using since August, however, I have not missed a single night.
Oh my land...no. Still struggling with this machine and the variety of masks. I've only had it since May and I've heard it takes time. I am religious about at least trying to go to sleep with it. But end up ripping it off during the night. Right now I give myself breaks at least one night during the weekend. I am in hopes that I get used to it very soon.
Yup. Once I found the proper mask and progressively got used to it. (Over the course of about 1-2 months). I do not go to bed without my CPAP & I wear it the entire night. I have a 2nd machine for travel and do not travel without it. The rare exception has been some 10-15 minute cat naps... which as others have mentioned, the need for naps has almost completelty diminished!

I'm sure others will agree, all masks are not equal. As part of my program, I had the opportunity to try several masks for free until I finally found one that was way more comfortable than the rest. It's been uphill since then! That was back in 2004. I'm so thankful that I can wake up in the morning and actually feel rested.
id be lying if i said 100
probably it is about 50%
100 % compliant at night for several years. I do however sometimes fall asleep in the recliner after Sunday Church and a country meal. When I wake up after one to two hours, I feel like I have been run over by a Mack truck, I usually have a headache which is a result of lack of oxygen. I am happy to report though, that from now on, because of this post, I will hook-up on Sunday. Thank you for posting!!
I have wondered about people saying they could not sleep with the mask. It seems that if you have osa, you can't sleep without the mask. I feel so lucky that I got used to it immediately and only had a few minor problems. I even had a cold a few weeks ago and I dreaded what "might" happen, but I found I could breath easier with the machine and mask than without it. The only thing I noticed was that it was a little uncomfortable with coughing.
My napping requirements have almost disappeared totally.
