Scheduled for evaluation and possible procedure next day

Have an appointment for an evaluation and maybe the next day a Radio Frequency Temperature controlled ablation of tongue.  It (supposedly) takes several treatments.  I am not getting excited that I may not need CPAP ...but....    I would be happier if it just lets me use the CPAP without a cervical neck collar.  My neck pain is getting worse from wearing it.  I was diagnosed mile to moderate, the MD reviewed my sleep study results and felt I might be helped.  Will see what he say son the day of the veal.  It is 5 hours from where I live, hence the scheduling the next day for procedure if he deems OK.  Appointment is 10/14.  I could have had one sooner but going on vacation in 2 weeks.

Yes, it does seem that the mouth heals fast!!!

Sounds good. I hope it is working.

No pain...no pain med in over 24 hours.  I actually slept without the cervical collar last night and slept well.   AHI still good.  Wondering if just the initial swelling of my tongue is what helped.  But maybe, just maybe it is already working!

Still have not had to use the cervical collar.  I am surprised if it is already making some difference.  Now if I can be brave enough to have the five more procedures. AHI 7 day average even a little better today.

Ginny, that is great news!  If you have so much improvement so soon it should get even better with the rest of the treatments.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

Sure hope so.  If it works I can deal with a once a year procedure. Some people have face lifts....I'm in for tongue lifts~  LOL

#2 procedure scheduled for 11/21.  More anxious about this one since I had some difficulty with gag reflex when he "numbed" my tongue.  Trying to not think about it!

Ginny, maybe since you're aware of the difficulty with your gag reflex he can do something to avoid that problem.

Maybe he can tie a rope around my neck?  LOL   You should recieve something in the mail today!

Had my second treatment yesterday.  Tolerated well and ready for the next four to see if any more improvement!

Glad everything went well, Ginny.

Good Ginny I hope it helps you. How did you find out about this treatment?

I googled and googled…….
