Battery back up

I broke down and bought battery back up for my machine in view of the weather predicted. Of course, if the power is off more than three nights it will not do any good!

Will a UPS (uninterruptedable power supply) do the job

The UPS I have beeps every few minutes when the power is out.... very annoying.

What is a UPS ?  All I know it as is the "Men in Brown" who deliver stuff to me!   LOL

Maybe use it only four to six hours a night and don't use the humidifier- it should last longer.

Ginny, a UPS is and uninterable Power source- essentially a battery.
