I am beyond frustrated today.  I have been using the Quattro Mirage mask for years...first they gave me a size Medium...I now take an extra small...no one ever bothered to fit it properly and just kept telling me that it was me and that the leaking would finally stop...it never did.  I stopped by the doctor's office one day and they fitted me properly after about 2 years on the wrong size mask.

The most recent replacement mask did not fit as well as in the past but my concerns were pooh poohed by the company that provides my equipment.  I have been getting a new cushion around every 6 weeks for the past year...previously no one ever suggested that I needed a new one monthly.

This new mask caused an open sore on the bridge of my nose.  I tried the Gecko and it didn't help, and was told that bandaids would work even though I am allergic to the adhesive and of course the problem go worse and I finally switched to the Quattro FX.

I received a size small and when I put it on and adjusted it last night for the first time it seemed okay.  In the middle of the night I woke up and it was leaking.  I tightened, loosened, adjusted, pushed my face into the pillow and nothing helped...this went on for hours and I finally gave up and took it off.

I have lost 20 pounds recently.  I am on a pressure of 28 and up until a month ago everything was working fine.  I am just sick of being tired and frustrated and I get nowhere with the company that supplies my equipment...they have dropped the ball on so many occasions that I can barely count.  I have lodged a complaint and told them that I will ask the doctor for a referral to someone else if they can't get it together.  Any suggestions?

Noreen, I use the Mirage Quattro after trying 4 other nasal masks and pillows. A couple of things I found ythat helps is having your hose come from above your head instead of by your side and mask liners. I've had mine 18 months and still haven't changed the cushion and get a fairly good seal (in Australia we have to pay for ours so don't change too often). Kath Hope has always had good reports about the Respironics
Fit Life, it is a much larger FFM but who cares if it does the job. The problem is everyones face is different in shape and size, it would be much easier if we were all the same.

Noreen, I wrote a blog recently on masks if it helps http://www.sleepapnoeablog.com/choosing-a-cpap-bipap-masks-for-slee...

Noreen, getting the right fit on a mask is the hardest thing we do.  I was lucky to have an RT who worked with me extensively on finding  a mask; I eventually found the Respironics FITLIFE Total Face Mask (not the one size fits all).It does not touch my nose at all.  One other- well two things that have wrked for me are to loosen the straps a bit and wear a kufi cap on the crown of your head.  The cap gives a little springiness and helps with fit.  Also take Macks Silicone earplugs, roll them in your palms until soft, fasten into a string the size of a pencil and place around the mask where it touches your face.  Let me know if you need more details, the silicone seal works. 28 is a very high pressure.  I had a pressure prescribed of 30 one time and could only tolerate- because of the mask, 27.
