II would also suggest that you checkout a local teaching hospital such as Baylor. Often they will have free clinic that will at the very least see you for free and discount the study. Plus they may have access to discounted equipment.

You should always feel free to ask whatever questions you have, and to report back to the group about how things are going so that we can give you ideas. The problem you will have is that a CPAP needs a prescription. This should be easy to obtain if you have a sleep test. For affordability reasons, I'd suggest a home test, which runs ~$150, from which your doctor can write a script. Then you can buy for cash a CPAP machine and mask, which runs around $800.
