Hi All,

I need help. I've only had this machine for 2 months. I use it at level 12, as prescribed by my Sleep Study Doctor and have not had any problems with it since raising the level to 12. Two nights ago I noticed that the water chamber (and the water) was pretty warm but didn't pay any attention. Last night however, the water actually boiled over up the tube and into the mask - a lot of water not just a little condensation! I don't know why this is happening or if there is some adjustment that i accidentally hit but when I tried to use it again, I cooled off the water, waited until the plate that sits under the water chamber had completely cooled down (the machine was off for about 30 minutes) and then tried again. In less than a minute the plate started to heat up again, in turn heating up the water. Does anyone know a solution to this? has my machine suddenly become defected? I can't sleep without it.

Please help...

Thanks so much!

All - I have the solution. Because it's summer, and hot, the HUMIDITY setting should be set to ZERO. Once I did that, the heat plate did not heat up. Yai!! Also, I was told there is no need to put water in the container.

Patricia, it sounds as though the humidifier is malfunctioning and I would contact the DME asap.  If they cannot get to you immediately I would turn the humifier off, but that is not a long term solution. Even though it is summer I need to use the humidifier.  If you turn the humidifier setting to 0 you can still put water in the chamber and use it in passover mode.  Again, I would talk to the tech who set you up with the machine as the humifier plate getting that hot is not normal.

Good Luck.

Mary Z.

Thank you Mary. That's exactly what I was told by the tech. I turned off the humidifier (set it to zero) and I'm just not going to add any water. Thanks so much Mary Z.
