Spencer, as a member of the SleepGuide Crew I would like to welcome you to the forum.   SleepGuide is a support group for people and their friends and families whose lives are impacted by sleep apnea.  We not only try to fill the gaps in support and education left by Doctors and DME's, but try to empower members to monitor and make decisions about their treatment.

We do not take the place of physicians in treating sleep apnea, but are here to give advice based on our own experience.  We often deal with the chronic problems of ill fitting masks, enabling you to read and understand your own "numbers", and problems with the Medical Support Community. We do have Professionals from the sleep field on board, but are primarily lay people supporting one another to enhance compliance and comfort with therapy.  We try to get you over the rough spots as well as share our journeys and successes.

Alternative therapies such as Provent, dental appliances, the different modalities of 'PAP, and the electrial stimulator are discussed as we also debunk "snoring remedies" and pills that claim to treat sleep apnea.

A forum is only as exciting and successful as the members who contribute so I urge you to respond to discussions or start one of your own.  A short intro would be great.  Lurkers are just as welcome.

Glad you are already contributing.

Mary Z.
