You can also get your blood pressure checked at the local fire station. I think calling the local sleep lab is the best suggestion. They usually know the ins & outs of the different insurance companies. This is usually something insurance companies…

He can also check his blood pressure for free at many drug stores such as Walgreens or CVS or stores such as Target and WalMart if they are in your area. The Pharmicist there may also be able to provide you with additional resources.

I would suggest calling your local Sleep Center or Clinic to see if they are offering any free trial studies. If they do not they may be able to assist you further. Be Well!

Silvia, you are very correct in being concerned about your boyfriend's breathing when he sleeps. Do some research on this site, or other internet sites and print out what you find and give him to read. If this doesn't work, do you have a tape recor…

Welcome to the Sleepguide community.

We are a group of patients and professionals that are interested in sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can contribute to a number of health issues, that if not treated can lead to serious consequences for those that have sleep apnea.

We work together to help those that are struggling with their therapy to find solutions to their issues that they may have. Various treatment options are available, with cpap/apap therapy probably being among the least invasive for those with severe sleep apnea.

Please feel free to join in the discussions and participate in the forum.

I used to have problems both falling to sleep and getting a good night sleep, suffering from mild Sleep Apnea, a friend of mine told me about the LiveWave Silent Night patches, it worked wonders for me, I like it because nothing goes into my body and I sleep through the night without any problems.

The two major manufacturers have similar "comfort features" but use somewhat different terminology. Since determining the settings for these "comfort features" require that the patient be sleeping how on earth is the local DME RRT going to come up w…

You could very well be right jnk. I have never been in this situation. Those settings are hardly ever discussed.

It would all depend on what the minimum maximum window is Judy. Maybe I am missing something on this one as I do not fully understand your question.

In general Carol, steve is right. Your case and many others prove the need to treat the pt rather than the rule.

Keep them coming guys! Thank you so much Judy. Ask anything you want. It does not matter if it is on the test or not. Put me in any situation you like as I am bound to answer based on the same set of rules.

This would be a question of protocol. For which I would refer first to my P&P. Which I do not to believe to have a policy on these types of comfort adjustments. Which would leave to clinical judgement. Clinical judgement tells me that I can adjust f…
