Ginny, not to be rude, but to quote from the thread

"I love my Respironics FitLife Total Face Mask.   It is rather intimidating to look at, but is very comfortable.  I think it is catching on."

It's very comfortable.  I bought the small headgear to work with my large size mask and it works well.  Good luck.  I was just having a moment.  It's been a trying day.  I'm sorry.

Ginny,  I suggest you read the entire discussion "Any new developments in masks" again.  I believe all of your questions have been answered at least once if not several times. No one can promise this mask will work for you.

I start the Quattro FX MUCH higher UP the nose than I do any other mask, full face OR nasal cushion.

Under the thin outer cover there is a somewhat thicker, stronger cover cut out for the nose bridge. I can feel the "corners" of that firmer cover and fit those corners comfortably over the bridge of my nose close to the inside corner of my eyes area. I know that's worrisome, you worry about your eyes. When fitting it this way I also tip the entire mask up a bit as shown in the instructions that come w/the Quattro FX. I then tip the mask down to fit my face, lay down, snap the bottom straps into place and turn my PAP on. I give it a few seconds to fill the cushion w/air. If I feel a leak around my eyes I first pull the mask headgear up by the top straps AT THE BACK OF MY HEAD. If necessary I may then press the top of the mask tightly to my face and release. That tends to align the cushion meeting the skin. If still a minor leak around the eye I try running my fingertip GENTLY along the seamline between mask cushion cover and skin. Once in a while I have to turn my PAP off, undo the headgear straps and start all over again whilst still laying down. Once I'm laying down I am NOT getting up until "potty time"!!! I do NOT keep my headgear straps tight, I keep them AND my mask fit COMFORTABLE.

how far down the nose do you put top of FX mask and how tight do you make straps

Sorry Ginny.  I should not have mentioned the custom nasal masks that are obviously out of reach for 99% of us, and I believe you had mentioned you use a FFM.. I don't know what I was thinking of!

Hi Ginny,

thanks for the info. I have been diagnosed with mild positional SA and the sleep specialist has suggested looking at sleep pillow therapy. Have started on the Sona Pillow, still too early days to notice any change. At this point trying to get use to the pillow is a challenge.

You put one side at your back and the other is like a longer regular pillow but narrow enough for your head to go on the edge without disturbing the mask.  I sleep as close to the edge as possible and it works wonders...I have a huge leakage problem due to having a 30 pressure as my high point.  This almost eliminates the leakage issues for me.  You can even lie on your back on it for a while and it is very comfortable.  Some years ago I used one of those pillows that they sit babies in to teach them to sit up...it is smaller that the boomerang and worked great until it wore out.  This one worked best for me and I have been trying pillows for years until I found this one.

I also saw the boomerang pillow on the WalMart website and that is supposed to be the best one.  It is worth a try.  It has been a lifesaver for me.

QVC had it also I think I saw it at Sears on line.  If you google L shaped pillow they will come up.  Mine cost about $28.00.
