Carolyn, as a fellow member of the forum I would like to welcome you to SleepGuide.  I hope you enjoy the discussions and feel free to participate and ask questions. Learning you have another chronic illness requiring lifelong treatment could certainly

 lead one to be down.  Just like the advancements in diabetes treatment with the insulin pump I believe they are always looking for more and better ways to treat OSA.  We may not be tied to these machines for the rest of our lives.  I certainly have nights where I am just over putting on the mask, but I keep on using my machine.  Give yourself time to adjust- I'm sure it took some time to accept your diabetes.
