"Thanks for this, Mary. Worse comes to worse, I'll buy a used machine from Second Wind. First I'm going to see if I can get my doctor to prescribe one. Maybe this is the final answer. Meanwhile, I'm surely happy to have…"

"May I ask two dumb-dumb questions?  What do "Dx" and "CSA" mean? And here is a not-so-dumb-dumb question (I hope!): From your experience, do people sleep better using an ASV machine?  I look forward to your answer. "

"You will most likely not be able to get insurance approval for an ASV without a Dx of CSA. I think that saying that an ASV breathes with you is false. ASV does however provide a better breath support and algorithm for auto use. The newer ASV units…"

Nose Hair?!? We all have it!!

I am a little embarrassed and my doctor actually kind of laughed at me when I brought this up. I am a 20something female.. I don't exactly have NOSE HAIR... I have what I would suppose is a normal amount of shorter fine blonde hair in my nose that you can not see. It is not like it is hanging all about. But I feel like maybe it is SUPER sensitive? Does anyone else have this problem? I hope I am not alone with this. I have had the Mirage Liberty for about a month now and I really like it... It…See More

Brittany, as a fellow member of the forum and on behalf of the SleepGuide Crew I would  like to welcome you to SleepGuide.

We come from all over the world and range fom the yet to be diagnosed and newbie to those who have been on the machine for many years, Sleep Professionals, and those concerned about a friend or relative.

There is a wealth of information available from the main page including articles, videos, and the FAQ.  You can also start a new discussion- you never know when your comments or suggestions will help someone else.  The "What's on Your Mind?" feature is for a quick rant or comment for which you do not need feedback.

We are all about the world of Sleep Disordered Breathing, narcolepsy, and Excessive Daytime Sleepiness. Up for discussion are Doctors, DME'S, sleep labs, tests and results, and any problems or tips about therapy. We also discuss alternatives to CPAP- Provent, dental devices, surgery and the new electrical implant.

SleepGuide was founded by Mike Goldman, a Sleep Health Advocate and Blogger.

We welcome your contributions,
