I am new to using the CPAP. Is it advisable to use the CPAP if you take an afternoon nap? I hope when I am on this longer it will reduce the need for a nap. Just checking. Thanks.!

Yes, you should use a CPAP even when you nap, especially if you are going to nap long enough to fall into REM or dream sleep, the stage of sleep when we have the most apnea/hyponea events.
Once again, THANKS! Will do! My cold is better so I slept with my machine last night. I woke up at 2:00 and used the bathroom. I put my mask right back on like a "good girl" and slept with it until 5:30! YEA! I hope I start to feel something better soon. So far, no difference at all. I hope to have more energy in the evenings. ANd to lose this extra 40 pounds.

If I have central sleep apnea does that mean I have had it all my life? Even before I started snoring (about a year ago)?

Wonderful question, & yes yes yes do the CPAP thing w/ naps. Anytime I intentionally set out to sleep, I hook up on my CPAP. I'm not religious about it though. The reason I won't sleep w/o CPAP is that when I do I wake up w/ a headache. If it doesn't bother you to take a little nap w/o it, there are no CPAP police to come get you. The high road, though, is to wear it whenever you plan to go to SLEEP, because that's when we have obstructive SLEEP apnea.
So helpful, thanks!!!
