It sounds like you are mouth breathing. Have you tried using a chin strap? I know others tape their mouth to keep it shut. If you try taping make sure you use a gentle tape and fold over the ends of the tape to make it easy to remove if needed during the night or in the mornings. Others use denture strips -- cut a small strip, get them moist and apply. You can still open your mouth if needed, lick your lips to get them moist again and press your lips together.

Another option is a full face mask.

I also use a Bipap Auto SV with a humidifier.  I wish I had a solution for you, but I have a similar problem. Because I am a side sleeper, a full mask will not stay in place.  I spent a fortune on custom foam pillows, trying to find one that would not push my mask out of position.  I now use a nose mask and tape my mouth closed. The mask stays in place and my mouth stays closed.   However,  I still occasionally wake up during the night with a VERY dry mouth.  I remove part of the tape and use a straw to sip a little water.  Then I can usually go back to sleep. It took me many months to get to this point;  I think I can live with the present situation.

For myself, sometimes even with the humidifier my throat becomes dry. I just thought (not sure) it was caused by air being forced/rushing down to my airway.

I don't know if this would help as it's for a dry mouth, but Biotene makes dental products for dry mouth.  I really don't expect it would help your throat, but might be worth a try.  The air just actually splints open the airway, but does seem to be the cause of yur dry throat.  That's got to be miserable.  Wish I had a solution.  Good luck.
Maxine, there is a pillow sold by Walmart online, that is L shaped- it's called the boomerang pillow and is just 20$.  I looks like it might work as well as the more expensive speciality pillows. Sounds like you've figured out a smart work around, though.

My throat becomes dry even with a full face mask. :)
