Did You Know...

that temperature can contribute to better sleep? The optimal room temperature conducive for sleep is between 60 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit or 15.5 to 20 degrees Celsius. Keep your room temperature at or below 70 degrees F or 21 degrees C to increase the likelihood of a good night's rest!

Bill, it's interesting, I have been talking on hope2sleep in the UK and we have theories that temperature increase your AHI. I'm in Australia and we have just come out of summer nights when the temp is above 20c, my AHI increases dramatically normally as high as 10. Now we are in Autumn (fall) and the temp has fallen to around 15c, I'm back to around an AHI of 2. So many other thing affect AHI's, so it's hard to tell, it's possible in warmer weather, I'm moving more and that can increase your AHI. On hot nights, I have the AC on till I go to bed, then run a fan during the night, but the high temp increases the roon temp during the night.

I am most comfortable sleeping in a very cool room, so my air conditioning is on during the summer nights, and my window cracked during the winter. I have wondered about temperature increasing the AHI.

I like it cool during the day -- but hate being cool at night.  I find for myself I do better in a warmer room than a cooler room.

If it is too hot in my room, I have nightmares.  But if it is too cold, my muscles hurt terribly when I wake up in the morning.  I'm like a Goldilocks!  *sigh*  :O)   So, I got a heated mattress pad to keep my muscles from getting so sore.  Now, I can have the AC on while I sleep in the summer (I have the mattress pad on the lowest setting) and it keeps my muscles from hurting in the winter.  I bought a cheap one that lasted about 18 months and then my mom gave me a better quality one and it is holding up WAY better than the other one.  It's nice to finally find a solution!
