Sleep Study to be Webcast Tonight/ Throughout Night

FYI:  Sleep Medicine Associates of Seattle is hosting a live stream tonight of a patient sleeping at their sleep center.  All times below are Pacific Standard Time.  So things look to be kicking off 8PM Pacific/ 11PM Eastern --- what's interesting here especially is that you will be able to see things from the sleep tech's point of view as well.   For more information, go to their website:  http://www.gosleep.com/night-in-clinic.htm

Schedule of Events

  • Evening: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Live Webcast with patient, sleep doctor and the patient's wife

  • Sleepless in Seattle: 9:00 PM to 10:59 PM
Live stream of patient sleeping in the sleep center

Hello Mike,

Thanks for posting this. As most followers of this guide should not stay up all night to watch this, fascinating as I expect it to be, do you know if it is being captured and posted anywhere accessible. I just emailed the same question to Dana Lewis, the contact person on the Sleep Center's website, and guessed Dr. to avoid having to guess mail or female.

Thanks again for sharing this, I will try to catch the first couple of hours in real time.
Update: The following response came from Dana Lewis, who is a marketing specialist:

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your email! I’m glad you heard about the live webcast. We are planning to save the webcast and host it on the site for people to see at other times; however, I’m not sure when or exactly where it will be posted yet. I will do my best to share the link with you once it is live (or it might be the same site).

Please let me know if you have any questions you’d like the doctors to cover during the course of the evening – I’ll work to see if they include them in the program.

Best,
Dana

thanks for investigating. judging by the response so far to this thread, though, i wonder whether they'll get enough of a turnout to make it worthwhile...

Mike, In the press, you are getting the reputation of a voyeur. http://indyposted.com/34265/voyeurs-can-watch-man-sleep-via-live-st...
I thought SG or I were going to be mentioned by name in the article. No such luck.

The writer should grab a dictionary the next time he reaches for a fancy word like voyeur.

Classic case of denial over a long period of time:

The patient, Paul Balcerak said, “I’ve had sleep problems for a long time. While I wouldn’t necessarily call them debilitating — if necessary, I can function off four hours or less — they have occasionally been frustrating.”
