I remember now why I've always had a FFM.  My nose has gotten stopped up during the night the past two nights and I have taken my nasal mask off early in the am.  My AHI was 35.5 which can't be right.  I registered no leaks, but must have been mouth breathing.

I am really dragging this morning.  I'm not due for a new mask anytime soon, but may have to break down and buy one.

Wonder what's causing the stuffiness?  Does anything help this…?  Allergies?  I NEVER had a FFM that fit me. YOu know…this CPAP stuff is very hard on us!!!!  I feel for you.

Ginny, you're so sweet.  The CPAP can certainly be difficult at times.  Mainly the mask.  Last night I was clear and used the nasal mask all night.  I've had sinus woes since childhood.  When I first go to bed I'm always a bit stuffed up, but when I put the nasal mask on and started breathing through my nose it would clear up.  I certainly could start one of the newer antihistamines and see if that will help.  This is the reason I always thought I was doomed to use a FFM.

My AHI was 35 again.  I had been playing with my settings and promptly reset them to my prescription.  I had a change in medication last week, and have decreased the doses on two others prior to discontinuing them.

I didn't keep dragging yesterday, but perked up upon walking my dog and was still wide awake at bedtime.  I feel good this morning.

Glad you feel better this AM.  People that do not have sleep apnea do not know how fortunate they are.  They just get ready for bed and fall into it.  We have so much preparation and then the mental anguish of wondering what kind of a night will it be…will the mask fit well tonight, will it be uncomfortable, will my nose stuff up, etc. etc.   I use cetirizine 10 mg (generic zyrtec) that I get at my pharmacy.  9- tabs is about $13.  Does not make me sleepy or anything.  The whole CPAP scenario would not be so bad if you found one thing/way of using the CPAP and that was it.  it's the dam trial and error over and over again!
