Has anyone had success with the saline nasal spray? It seems I wake up often because my nose is stuffed up. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Saline nasal spray dries out too quick. My ENT prescribed Nasonex which works pretty well most nights.
I have taken Nasonex for allergies -- if I remember it is actually for allergies and not just a moisturizer.

I have learned that I do not do well with the nasal sprays for allergies such as Nasonex, Rhinocort, etc. because it doesn't take long that everything smells like vinegar. Even the air smells like vinegar and it isn't just a faint smell but overwhelming. I can't deal with the overwhelming smell of vinegar. Was told it was a side effect of the sprays. Once I stop them my smell returns to normal.
Nasal spray, you bet! We've tried all kinds and we prefer Ocean brand.
No meds in it. You can spray over and over and it keeps my eustachian tubes clear.
We wouldn't be without it. Other kinds we've tried had a bad taste or whatever else . . .
Ocean works fine and without complaints at all!
have you tried NeilMed's nasal rinse ? that's the one i use -- if you've tried both that and the Ocean nasal spray, i'd be interested in any thoughts on how they differ.

I've never tried that kind.

Mike are you familiar with the Ocean spray? It is portable and as such can be used regularly. This is important if your nasal passages dry out during the day. I tend to get nosebleeds when mine dry out and the Ocean spray allows me to use it as necessary -- home, work, anytime.

The Neilmed is for flushing your nose -- a totally different concept, in my opinion. I have used both and I find that the Neilmed doesn't always keep my passages moisturized during the day. I still have a tendancy to get dried out.

I don't know about others people's experiences but that is what I have found.
Try the Neti Pot... It beats nasal spray hands down and clears the sinus much better. I use one every night and sleep MUCH better. See: http://www.healingdaily.com/exercise/neti-pot.htm
my problem is congestion at night -- somehow i block up right before bedtime, as if my body knows that i'm about to use cpap and kind of wants to conspire against me! what do you recommend for this? i've been using the neilmed neti pot.

I have very similar problem in that my nose blocks up most of the time. i suffer severe sinusitus and I've used prescribed and off the shelf sprays as well as a recommended mixture but all fail with the exception of off the shelf products which you can not uses continuously
Having said that i find that going to bed with a semi blocked nose is uncomfortable but the CPAP machine dries it up after a little while, and i find that i breathe best after i remove the CPAP machine

I have found that many times when I go to bed I can be clogged and once I mask up the congestion kind of disappears on its own. I have used the Neilmed nasal rinse bottle and found that when I have a cold it is great, but I don't do it every night -- as I tend to "leak" for a hour or more and after a period of time (usually anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, I tend to gush awhole more water out. Not a good thing in bed. Yes, I know how to do it correctly and use the same procedures as shown on the instructions. I think it may have to do with my sinus structure possibly. And NO I am not going back to an ENT for an evaluation. I have already done the surgery route and will NOT go that route again!!

I think Mike for you if you aren't having the extremely dry membranes during the day I would use the netipot for the congestion in the evening. The Ocean spray, in my opinion, is for hydrating the members and keeping things moist and since it can be used as needed is great for that.
