"Thanks for this, Mary. Worse comes to worse, I'll buy a used machine from Second Wind. First I'm going to see if I can get my doctor to prescribe one. Maybe this is the final answer. Meanwhile, I'm surely happy to have…"

"May I ask two dumb-dumb questions?  What do "Dx" and "CSA" mean? And here is a not-so-dumb-dumb question (I hope!): From your experience, do people sleep better using an ASV machine?  I look forward to your answer. "

"You will most likely not be able to get insurance approval for an ASV without a Dx of CSA. I think that saying that an ASV breathes with you is false. ASV does however provide a better breath support and algorithm for auto use. The newer ASV units…"

Resmed Clinicians Manual and Resmed Clinicians Guide

Is there a difference between a Resmed Clincians Manual and a Resmed Clinical Guide?? I have the Resmed VPAP Auto Clinicians Manual in pdf. I also have the Resmed VPAP Auto 25/VPAP ST Clinical Guide in pdf. I suspect they are not the same thing, that the Clincians Manual and the Clinical Guide are two separate publications.

The Resmed VPAP Auto Clinicians Manual is quite detailed about the various "comfort" options and settings. The Resmed VPAP Auto 25/VPAP ST is nowhere near so detailed. I suspect there is a Resmed VPAP Auto 25 Clinicians Manual and an entirely different VPAP Auto 25/VPAP ST Clinical Guide. But I would like confirmation of this if it is so.

Not sure what the difference is. Our units are packed with a Clinician's Guide on CD, but we don't have a Clinician's Manual. Where did you obtain a Clinician's Manual? We also get a Quick Set-Up Guide, but that's just for setting the parameters on the machine. Could you post the pdf of the manual?
Melinda, I can e-mail a pdf of the Resmed VPAP Auto Clincians Manual and a pdf of the Resmed VPAP Auto/VPAP ST Clinical Guide but I don't know how and don't like to post the Clinicians access information publicly.

Assuming you are associated w/a local DME supplier the Clinicians Manual should come in the same box as the unit. It may well be that Resmed is now including the Clinicians Manual on CD instead of an actual booklet in the box when shipping the devices. At least until recently when one purchased a device from an online DME supplier one received both the Resmed Users Manual, the Quick SetUp Guide AND the Resmed Clinicians Manual in the box w/the device.

PM me w/your e-mail addy and I will send you the two pdf files. Do NOT post your e-mail addy publicly.
New to this forum. Unsure how it works, but I am looking for a VPAP II clinicians manual. PDF form would be great. I am a healthcare professional - RRT. Not sure how much is posted on-line and how much privately... so unsure how to give out an email address I don't want everyone to have. You could send it to my professional college and they would get it to me (all via email of course). Their website is www.carta.ca
Appreciate your discretion at not posting the manual publicly. I believe non-professionals should seek out appropriate vendors to aid in these matters. I also appreciate that it can be a pain and many "professionals" are not always that professional. So if others are seeking someone without success. Keep looking there are fantastic people in this field who will do all they can to help and give good advice, education, and support.
Judy,

Would you please send me the Clinicians Manual for the Resmed Auto. Thank you.
