Did he use the term sleep apnea on the show ?

Just by his nasal voice it wouldn't surprise me at all that he is a snorer. However, he's NOT one of my favorite people and I'm not a particularly avid TV fan either so ....

This may explain his heart condition. Didn't he undergo heart surgery a while back?

Yes, he did have bypass a few years ago, and as I remember, was a little nonplussed as he was in very good physical condition.
His wife was co-host today, and was going on about how badly he snores, evidently she initiated his testing. He showed a picture of himself wearing a little flat dealie strapped on his forehead, that monitored his sleeping. He said he had to wear it for 3 nights and then would get the results.

I did not hear him mention apnea, but I really wasn't paying any attention until I heard Joy talk about his snoring. He did say tonight would be his 3rd night with the monitor, and he would have his diagnosis after that. If it is sleep apnea, I'm sure he will have something to say periodically about using a cpap machine, as cranky as he is, lol
But also, he is such a health nut, I'm sure he will relay the health hazards associated with apnea, including heart problems. He could be a good poster child, especially if he finds out the apnea could have caused the heart issues. He is vocal!

that guy sure can talk. he's had a bypass. and he's skinny. he'd be a good spokesperson for apnea.

Caught some of Regis and Kelly this morning, and it is Sleep Week on the show--he is going to the sleep lab tonight (July 7) and will have results sometime this week, the director of the Mt Sinai sleep center was on there today, and they are going to review his test and make recommendations, not sure which day, probably Friday to keep everyone tuned in!

Here is the link for the site info, there is a video of the director and them..unfortunately, I will miss Wed and Thurs, so hope they wait till Friday!

The results are in! I just watched it from the website and he was dx with OSA! They showed him two masks, but didn't really go into trying them on or anything. The Swift LT was one of them, and the other was one of the nasal masks. What will really make a difference though will be if he talks about it later and is compliant with the cpap.

I'm so glad you put this on here, as I missed it and will miss show Friday, too..

Stirred my memories, as I was just as enthusiastic as he was during the process, lol..but not as vocal. And I had to tough it out without a teddy bear..all I had was a candy bar I smuggled in..

Let's hope he gets acclimated and starts talking about how much better he feels.

I am 60 have been on CPAP since 2003. Sleep apnea caused by a rare blood cancer, I developed tumors in my throat and airways. The sleep apnea was diagnosed quickly but it was 2007 before the cancer was diagnosed.
