The last time I called to get CPAP supplies (new nasal pillows, etc), I was told my insurance (an Aetna-run plan) no longer covers my CPAP because I am diagnosed with UARS and my AHI is too low for it to be covered as having sleep apnea.  I didn't have any trouble with this last year, so I'm wondering what's changed and what I can do about it.  Thankfully, I have a new CPAP, so I should be alright for a while, but this really took me by surprise.

Well that is a tough one. How educated is your PCP on sleep. Maybe he can talk to the insurance company for you.
@Rock,

Perhaps I will see what he can do the next time I go in to see him. The supplies I get are not too expensive but I was so surprised t this.
With Aetna and denied coverage its not really so surprising. They do have a history. Much like UNUM and disability insurance claims.
You can pick up parts off from cpapauction (need a script) and eBay. I recently purchased some filters from eBay. I got twelve for around a buck a piece.
Talking to the insurance company is part of the service that you pay for through your doctor's office. They should be able to help.

I hope a talk with your insurance company will straighten things out. It's ridiculous to refuse payment when you AHI is low since that is the whole point of treatment.
you should claim grandfathers rights
as you have had uars prior to cpap

or there is some kind of inconsistance

you need to gently pester them and ask why was it allow before
