What a mess.  Fell on snow on steep concrete incline after nice lunch out.  Blood all over my face so trip to ER.  Neg. CT of head, and xray of right knee.  Split upper lip, swollen nose, sore left writs.  I know I can't stand th eCPAP tonight.  Will try cervical collar.  I am so mad at myself!!   :)

So sorry to hear about this fall. I don't know how severe your OSA is, but for me, I would sleep in a recliner, or at least some pillows to elevate your head tonight. Wearing the collar, if you can, should keep your head upright also. If your OSA does not have severe desats, I would just get comfortable with non-sedating pain relievers (narcotics suppress respiration and would worsen apnea). Thanks for posting this---we must not take for granted an intact face, nose & lip. Our thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.

Ginny, so sorry to hear of your fall, I'm sure you look  mess!  Please don't be mad at yourself- these things happen and I know it's a cliche, but it could have been much worse.

I had a bad fall a couple of weeks ago.  I tripped on an uneven sidewalk and hit my head so hard I saw stars for the first time.  I have bad balance so am prone to falls.  Espescially the kind where you trip and your legs are frantically trying to catch up with your upper body.

Not to steal your thunder....I hope you feel better soon, Ginny.

Thanks Mary!   Yes, the PA in the ER said I was "blessed"...could have been much worse.  I slept on the couch propped up dsome with my cervical collar and only woke up once (that I know of)

Three nights "CPAP less".  Hope it is not too many more.  I have seemingly slept well, though.  Not getting up for bathroom trips etc.  On a brighter note...I ordered Wisp mask today through my DME provider!!!!

Ginny, happy to hear that you are not in pain and are sleeping well. I think that collar & recliner keeps our airway somewhat open.

I couldn't stand the recliner....so I am on couch with two pillows. Will let you know about the Wisp...not sure how long it will take to get here. But I imagine I will be able to wear my Pilairo in about 4-5 days.  ( I hope)
