Hi,

I am a newbie here and I would like to check that my CPAP technician statement is right. He said that Autoset is good to only determine what "grade" of sleep apnea you have but if you had a sleep study done and they came up with a certain pressure you should use the machine on CPAP setting with the recommended pressure.

Thank you.

That depends as some people will do better on one or the other. As a rule of thumb most sleep professionals do not like Auto very much. The main reason has been an industry wide abuse of these units. When used correctly they do very well for some. I would listen to the docs recommendations as he/she is the one who will decide what you need. Try to get a fully data capable machine with both options.
Thank you RockRpsgt.
