moral of the story is: just because you're talking to a medial professional does not mean they will act like you expect them to, nor that they will actually listen to you. no one knows your body better than you. if something doesn't feel right get in their face and make them listen!
So true in so many cases.

Bob, I hope you are getting a fully data-capable machine preferably with software in order to find your optimal pressures.

If by a setting of 4 - 11 the doc means minimum 4 and maximum 11, you will likely find that 4 is too low. The software can be a big help in quickly finding the right pressures.
Mary Z, Yes I have a 9 pin male and a 15 pin female . Which one would I use ? Thanks so much for this link I did not know it was out there. How long has this link been there?
Thanks Rich
Rich, use the nine pin male- you'll have to buy a 9 pin to USB cable- actually you need a null modem cable or adaptor and a male to female adaptor. I bought the nine pin to USB cable and male to female adaptor off the internet and the null modem adaptor at Radio Shack. Sorry I don't remember any parts numbers. I just found an online cable dealer, called him and told him what I needed. RadioShack may have all the parts though. The null modem cable or adaptor is what makes it work- won't connect machine to computer without it. Good luck.
I don't know how long apneaboard has had their link, a good while I think.

Mary Z, thanks for all the good input I got on that site and found the software I will go out and get the cable tomorrow I have a Radio Shack about 2 miles from my home. I even requested the guides for the machine. I should get them most likely tomorrow.
I let you know how it goes.

Rich
Good luck, keep us posted on how it works out.

Mary, just an update on how things are going.... I am so glad that I got off the S/T and onto the ASV machine.  I am felling so much better now and use it every night.  I got the software working and the right cables and now I can see the results are so much better now my number of apnea's are down from over 180 to 0.   It took over a year and then going to a different Dr who has treated Complex Sleep Apnea to get the right equipment.  Thanks again for all your help.
