After using auto CPAP for one month with no better sleep..... my sleep doctor thinks that because my sleep apnea is so mild and the CPAP isnt working that the problem is stress/depression not from apnea. She wants me to try ambien with the Cpap to see what happens. I dont want to wear mask cpap if its not helping. Any help or comments out there?? Thx !

Darlene, I'm a little confused- what did you want the CPAP to help with that it's not helping?

CPAP is not something to help you sleep, but to have better quality of sleep.  If you expected to sleep better, or go to sleep easier with the CPAP, you won't.  What it will do is prevent apneas and hypopneas during the night and make the quality of your sleep better.  I had an AHI of only five and was given a choice of trying CPAP, or wait and see.  My daytime sleepiness was so bad I jumped at the chance to try CPAP.  If my only symptom was insomnia I know I wouldn't have been sent for a sleep study at all.

Good luck.
